Programs & Guidelines

Through collaboration with your practice and transplant center network, we clear treatment pathways for all patients with a blood or blood disorder who could benefit from cell therapy.

We also establish and update evidence-based standards of care and clinical guidelines to provide you with up-to-date information on patient treatment recommendations.

Programs and support for you

Local Provider Partnership Program
Through our Local Provider Partnership program, your clinical operations partner works in your region directly with your practice and transplant centers in your area. As they learn more about your practice and relationship with your transplant center, your clinical operations partner can match your specific needs with the appropriate NMDPSM programs or support and help you quickly get in touch with the appropriate contacts at the transplant center.

NMDP HLA Today
Our free NMDP HLA Today program allows your community hematology/oncology practice to initiate early unrelated and related donor searches. This helps your patients get ahead in their treatment timeline. HLA typing at the time of diagnosis and an early donor search allows time for a more in-depth search. It also provides insights that can inform alternate treatment options to ensure the best possible outcomes.

HLA typing for family members
Early HLA typing is important because finding a suitable donor can take time, especially if the preliminary search report shows a patient has an HLA type not commonly found on the registry. Family member HLA typing offered through NDMP HLA Today will also let you know quickly if a relative is a match.

Consultation guidelines & outcomes
Our consultation guidelines & outcomes identify appropriate referral timing for allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) based on risk for disease progression for more than 20 diseases. These guidelines keep you up to date on who and when to refer for consultation.

Post-transplant care guidelines
Your support is critical to your patient’s long-term recovery and survival after your patient leaves the transplant center and returns to your care. Our post-transplant care guidelines offer clinical recommendations for long-term screening, vaccinations and GVHD screening to help you support your patients effectively after transplant.
